CASTIGATING THE SINNER OR SAVING THE SINNER
Bible Text: Matthew 9:9
Matthew the Tax Collector As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him. Matthew 9:10 Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. Matthew 9:11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” Matthew 9:12 When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Matthew 9:13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” Matthew 9:9-13
Beloved, we give glory to God for giving us the enablement to be his children.If you have given your life to Christ you automatically become the child of God.But brethren is a rear privilege. You must always thank God if you have been saved. However, there is an obligation given to every saved human being ,preach the gospel for unsaved soul so that they will find mercy as you have find mercy.Is a command, an order and obligation as well. Many people get it all wrong they go on castigating the sinners, cursing them accuse them and making them feel that they can’t receive mercy.They also teach them that it is the battle of their father’s,mother’s and in law’s house that is troubling them instead of letting them know how dangerous sin is ,how deadly sin is.The sinners are looking for ways everyday to get out of their predicament. Don’t castigate them show them the way of salvation, that is when you will be known as the child of the living God.You are blessed. Lord ,teach me to love the unlovable especially sinners to be able to win them for your kingdom. Lord, let your saving grace touch the life of every sinner.
